I stumbled onto these b&w photos of Aba-Ngwa in 1951 shot by Lorenzo Dow Turner, a black Americans, and shows how clean and well planned Aba looked back in the days. Enjoy.

Pictures like this bring tears to my eyes. How do we manage to got here?
Imagine the cleanliness and serenity of Aba in 50s in comparisons to the mess we have left it today.
Imagine the beautiful green life, neatly laid out roads.
Ndigbo let us arise and do something, let us arise and save our environment.
Let us arise and tidy our environment.
    We can do much better!

I agree. Let us stop talking and rise! It's all about good planning and having people that are disciplined and adequately skilled to implement them. It is about enshrining policies that can create order in the society. Our people have to be re-trained in orderliness. The ethnic rancour for resource sharing, envy, jealousy and vindictiveness of Nigeria over success and merited achievement have taken us one century backwards as a people. We must find a way to share good ideas with our people and implement them. This old pictures of Aba equally bring tears to my eyes because I was raised there!
